Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program
The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program allows our business stake-holders to redirect tax dollars to support the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. Gifts made through this program support the Zoo's Learning Adventures, KidScience, and ZooU programs.
EITC provides companies with a 75 percent tax credit for donations to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. The tax credit increases to 90 percent if the company commits to making the same donations for two consecutive years. A business paying taxes in Pennsylvania can receive up to $300,000 in tax credits annually.
Businesses in Pennsylvania that pay any of the following taxes qualify to participate in the EITC program:
- Corporate Net Income Tax
- Capital Stock and Franchise Tax
- Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
- Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
- Insurance Premiums Tax
- Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax
