Routinely the employees at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium are asked, "What is it like to work at the Zoo?"
Our culture is continually shifting and evolving, blending values from the past and present while infusing technology and vision of the future. While many may have fond fun memories of a childhood visit on a warm lazy day where thoughts of exotic places come into focus, what is realized today is a very progressive organization that still evokes all of those feelings and more because of our caring, passionate and friendly staff.
Today's Zoo is a successful fast-paced union environment that values diversity and encourages progressive thinking. The Zoo is a team environment that is focused on guest experiences that teach the importance of conservation and education while challenging standards for the greater good of the Zoo's mission.
We believe that the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium provides our employees and volunteers the potential for personal growth, autonomy, and a cooperative atmosphere that balances family and personal needs through open channels of communication.
