Membership at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium offers an opportunity for family adventure in Pittsburgh. A full year of membership includes exclusive activities, members only evenings and much, much more. The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is open every day of the year except Christmas and members are admitted free. Members support the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium's important work to protect and conserve some of the world's most threatened wildlife through efforts such as:
- Participation in more than 20 Species Survival Plans with zoos worldwide to preserve and breed endangered and threatened species, including African elephants and Siberian tigers.
- The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium Conservation Fund that supports special projects, such as studying ecological disturbances in tropical rainforests and testing methods to reduce crop raiding by elephants in Uganda.
- Conservation education programs for all ages, teaching the importance of conserving our wild Earth.
The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is supported by the Allegheny Regional Asset District (ARAD) tax.
